Asian Agri is one of the major operators of palm oil plantations in Southeast Asia. Its downstream activities include refining and manufacturing of edible oil products.
Ranked as one of Asia’s largest primary producers of crude palm oil (CPO), Asian Agri manages a total of 160,000 hectares of oil palm plantations located in Indonesia’s Sumatra (including 60,000 ha in partnership with smallholders) and 19 palm oil mills with a production capacity of more than one million tonnes of CPO. With a total planted area of 307,000 hectares located in Indonesia, GAR operates 31 palm oil processing mills, two refineries and four kernel crushing plants. Plantation Indonesia currently owns and operates 55 plantation estates on a total land area of 216,911 hectares, spread over Sumatera, Kalimantan and Sulawesi. The Group total planted area, most of it cultivated with oil palm, stood at approximately 164,166 hectares of which 152,167 hectares or 92.7% is under Minamas Plantation and the rest under GPI. Plantation Indonesia operates 17 mills with a total milling capacity of 705 tonnes per hour. |
